We created the FootballSSG to aid in the ongoing growth and development of the game of football, and in particular, to aid in the natural development of player?s technical skills

The basics of FootballSSG and futsal are very similar. Most of the rules are similar including: the size of the field; the non-contact nature of play; and the length of the matches. The key and fundamental difference between FootballSSG and futsal is that we play on turf and use a turf ball (like you would use in your full-sized-field winter competition). This is because we want our players to improve their technical football skills, something we feel is best done using the ball and the surface they will experience in their regular winter competition.

You might just want to have fun. You might want to improve or enhance your fitness. All of these are valid reasons to play FootballSSG, Manly Warringah summer soccer.

	Spring 2023 Season - Player Registration Application Form

	This form is for registering and paying for one player to play FootballSSG. Use this form if you are a part of a pre-organised team OR if you are a single player that doesn’t yet have a team and would like us to find one for you.

Players in pre-organised teams that are registering and paying for themselves individually should use this form. So long as each player fills in the same details under the Venue & Age Group Information on this form, the team will be formed automatically.

The "team" form (which you might have previously used to register and pay for all the players in your team) is not being used this season as we need each individual that registers to have read and understood the extraorindary and important information, below.

If you don’t have a team and would like us to try to find one for you, just leave the appropriate fields ("Team Name" and "Manager Name") unchanged and we’ll do our best to place you in one.

Prior to commencing the registration application, please ensure that you have all the required information. Please note that incomplete or unpaid applications can not and will not be processed.

EXTRAORINDARY AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION RELATING TO COVID-19

The experiences from around the world since early 2020 show that the gathering of people in ANY environment brings with it the risk of possibility of exposure to and illness from contagious diseases including but not limited to COVID-19.

By choosing register:

   - you are acknowledging that FootballSSG is played at venues that are publicly accessible at most/all times and that FootballSSG has no control over that access;

   - you are acknowledging that FootballSSG has no practicable means to know if an infected person is in attendance;

   - you are acknowledging and agreeing that FootballSSG will be doing everything required by the government authorities to help keep everyone safe which, though highly unlikely, may even include the cancellation of games or the cancellation of the season;

   - you are acknowledging that FootballSSG, which is not-for-profit, has to commit to paying significant expenses to prepare for, organise and run the competition each season and you are acknowledging that your registration fees are calculated to cover those costs;

   - you are agreeing that, if a game or the season is cancelled as a result of COVID-19, FootballSSG will need time to determine whether any refund can be provided and you are acknowledging your understanding that any such refund will be insignificant when compared with the registration fees you have paid; and

   - you are agreeing to release, indemnify and hold harmless FootballSSG, its officers, members, servants and insurers against any claim and compensation for any loss or injury resulting in any way from or relating in any way to COVID-19.

It is your choice to register, to attend and to participate and you do so of your own free will.

IMPORTANT ACKNOWLEDGEMENT ABOUT RESPECTING PLAYERS, REFEREES AND OFFICIALS

FootballSSG is intended to be a fun and safe competition, for everyone. Our rules have been specifically designed to encourage players to be involved in all aspects of the game and to have the opportunity make mistakes, to learn from those mistakes and to hone technical skills, ultimately making them more competent which, in turn, makes the game more fun.

Our players are not the only ones learning, so are the supporters and, importantly, so are the referees. This is true at FootballSSG and it is true for every organised sport ... the referees and umpires will make mistakes and they will learn from the experience ... this does not give any player or spectator any right to interact negatively with them.

In 2023, FootballSSG intends to lead the way for all sports in Australia, by addressing the increasing prevalence of disrespectful and negative behaviour directed towards referees and officials firmly and without hesitation.

If you choose to behave poorly towards our referees, our field officials or other players or spectators, we will not hesitate to take any action that we feel is appropriate to address and correct your behaviour. This may include but certainly is not limited to:
- stopping your game until you leave the area
- abandoning your game and recording the loss as a forfeit by your team
- suspending you from playing or spectating for a period of time
- cancelling you or your child's registration
- or even cancelling your team's registration

We want there to be no confusion at all ... WE WILL NOT PUT UP WITH PEOPLE BEHAVING POORLY TOWARDS OUR REFEREES, OUR FIELD OFFICIALS OR OTHER PLAYERS OR SPECTATORS.

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION BONUSES

Players who registered before 23rd July received Early Bird discount pricing. This saving of approximately 10% was automatically calculated at the time of registering.

PLUS teams that had at least eight players registered before July 23rd will qualify for the right to choose their own playing colours from our ten different colour-ways. It works like this:
  (1) We record the date and time that each player is registered
  (2) We grade all the teams in a particular age group and assemble them in to competitions
  (3) In each competition we look to see which teams qualified to choose their colours by having at least eight players registered and, of those, we determine the order in which they were registered based on the date/time their eighth player was registered.
  (4) We then contact each team, in the order that they qualified, to obtain their colour choice. The team that qualifies first gets first choice, the team that qualifies second gets second choice, etc etc.
