Which Field Is Which?
We have devised a plan, in conjunction with Council and the ground’s personnel at Pittwater Rat Park and at Brookvale Oval, to ensure the playing surface is maintained at a high level throughout the course of the season (and going in to next year). We will make a decision on a weekly basis as to which part of the entire playing surface would most benefit from a rest from play and we will layout the fields accordingly.
Field layout
If we do not require eight playing fields on any given day, we will “rest” one or more of them. When you arrive at the field, you simply need to know the number of the field that you are due to play on (from the fixtures) and then use this simple guide to know which playing field corresponds to your field number:
When standing in front of the stadium and facing across the oval towards the hill (this applies to both Pittwater Rat Park and Brookvale Oval) the playing fields will always be numbered from left to right across the ground. Below are a couple of examples of how it may change from week to week.:
The key things to remember is (a) know from the fixtures what your field number is each week (b) count out the fields from left to right, starting at the top-left corner ... as though you were reading a book (c) any field space that is not set up for play does not count
